Revised Surveyor Guidance for Quality Assessment and Assurance

Changes to CMS Pub.100-07, State Operations Provider Certification, Appendix PP

Quality Assessment and Assurance, Tags F520 and F521 have been revised and condensed into one Tag, F520.

System changes for the revisions will be effective April 3, 2006.

The revisions will become effective for long term care facilities on June 1, 2006.

On that date, a final copy of the new guidance will be available at: www.cms.hhs.gov/Transmittals

Committee composition

Frequency of meetings

Identification of quality deficiencies

Development of action plans

Implementation of action plans

Correction of identified quality deficiencies
